Setting up the site
Having listened to a number of neighbours, we appreciate that the garage area is frequently used by residents as a turning space for their cars. We have also noticed that a number of people use the area as a shortcut through to the shops.
We have therefore decided that we will install the entrance gate but leave it open so that neighbours can continue to have access over the next few months. Please drive carefully around the garages as there may be members of our team on the site. When we are ready to commence the demolition stage the site will need to be closed to all access for health and safety reasons.
Car turning space during construction
From early feedback from residents, we understand your concerns about having use of a turning space during the construction period. So, before demolition starts, we will clear the vegetation at the entrance and create a hard standing in front of the site gates to enable small vehicles to turn at the end of the cul-de-sac.
Although not included in the plans approved by LBRuT, we will be conducting a feasibility survey to confirm if the large Bay tree can be retained, although we can inform you that it is our intention to maintain this tree if it is practically feasible. Still, the lower branches will need to be pruned to allow for vehicle manoeuvring and future amenities.
